The medieval tower, subjected to safeguard by the Ministry for Cultural and Environmental Heritage, for its historical architectural characteristics, has required a very careful design, respectful of the existing and which provided for the use of materials compatible with the original ones.
Preliminarily to the restoration and consolidation interventions, an accurate campaign of investigations and tests was carried out, including the dynamic analysis of the tower.
The masonry walls were consolidated by the injection of colloidal binder and insertion of steel tie rods.
Inside the tower was installed a steel staircase while the bell cell has been restored with structures designed to dampen the vibrations induced by the bells, partly cause of the instability and failure produced over time.
