Design period: 2012÷2013
These are the buildings where all the services for Expo 2015 have been housed, in particular: 15 service areas, 14 service units, 10 kiosks and 6 infopoints.
The service areas are two-storey buildings above ground as well as a basement with dimensions in plan varying between approximately 19×160 m and 19×31 m.
The structures of the basement are entirely in reinforced concrete cast in place without formwork but with the use of precast elements (predalles for the ground floor and double slabs for the perimeter walls).
The above ground structures, with the exception of the stair-lift shafts, also in r.c., are instead in wood: slabs in panels of cross laminated timber, beams and columns (with a spindle shape) in glued laminated timber.
The service units are two-storey above ground buildings of variable plan dimensions with a structure entirely made of wood: floors, stairs and walls in panels of cross laminated timber, beams and columns (with a spindle shape) in glued laminated timber.
Kiosks and infopoints are small one-storey buildings with a structure entirely made of wood: floors and walls in cross laminated timber columns (with a spindle shape) in glued laminated timber.
The foundations of all buildings are mats in cast in place r.c..
The peculiarity of all the structures described is that not all the columns are vertical, but many of them are variously inclined by an angle of about 8°.
