Bell tower of Zanè – Thiene (VI) – Italy
Final and detailed design of the structural consolidation
Client: Parrish of Santi Pietro e Paolo
Tower height: 65 m
Structural works value: 155.000,00 €
Year of start and end of works: 1994
Along its development in height, the tower shows five parts with different construction features: base, tower, bell cell, octagonal cell and cusp.
Preliminary investigations revealed a general deterioration with widespread damage to the bell cell, effect of the dynamic actions induced by the bells.
To support the design of the recovery interventions, complete finite elements analyzes have been carried out, both static and dynamic, simulating both single parts and the entire bell tower with three-dimensional models.
