The historic building, for residential use, has a plan size of about 18,80×16,30 meters, and consists of a basement and four floors above ground: from the side of Via De Grassi the building has a tower with an additional floor.
The study of the refurbishment interventions was preceded by a campaign of investigations and tests on the existing structures aimed at detecting their geometric and mechanical characteristics
The interventions involved all the decks and the roof, part of the walls, the construction of an underground pool with the relative technical rooms, an underground garage with a mechanical elevator.
Where necessary, the floors have been strengthened by working exclusively from above to preserve the valuable antique plasters
In some cases the decks have been replaced with new structural steel elements.
