The new building was built in a lot, surrounded on three sides by existing buildings and on the fourth by Via De Alessandri, where there was an old building with a basement, ground floor and seven floors above ground that was demolished for the purpose.
The new building, with three underground floors, ground floor and nine elevated decks, occupies the entire lot.
Both for the demolition of the existing building and for the construction of the new one, it was therefore necessary to adopt special technologies for the realization of the excavation without creating disturbance or damage to the existing buildings which were continuously monitored during the works.
The structures of the new building, consisting of foundation mat, walls, columns and flat slabs, are entirely made of cast in place r.c..
The three stories basement has been waterproofed with the “white tank” technology.
