Shopping center “Le Gru” – Grugliasco (TO) – Italy

Final and detailed design of the precast concrete structures, seismic assessment and retrofitting of the building

It is a two-story building with a structure almost completely prefabricated consisting of hollow core prestressed r.c. slabs, prestressed r.c. beams and r.c. columns.
The building is divided into various structurally independent parts by means of expansion joints achieved with sliding supports on appropriates columns corbels, thus avoiding columns doubling.
Foundations are constituted by isolated footings.
Following a specific task by Klepierre Shopville Le Gru S.r.l., during year 2015 was performed the seismic vulnerability assessment and in 2016 was drafted the design of the seismic retrofitting for the three parts that form the Shopping Center: the main body, the parking and the building called “ex Ikea”.
